The following routine will only take you 30 minutes, but will provide even better results and fat-burning effects than if you just stuck to the standard ho-hum, 1-hour elliptathon.
The workout is designed specifically for an intermediate exerciser, but you can easily increase or decrease the resistance and/or rest periods to make it easier or more challenging.
STEP ONE: Adjust the resistance levels to the value 2 for warm-up for 5 minutes.
STEP TWO: Increase the level to 5 for one minute.
STEP THREE: Increase the level to 10 for one minute.
STEP FOUR: Reduce the level to 5 for 2 minutes.
STEP FIVE: Increase the resistance level to 10 for 2 minutes
STEP SIX: Reduce the level to 5 for 3 minutes.

STEP EIGHT: Reduce the level to 6 for four minutes.
STEP NINE: Increase the level to 10 for 3 minutes.

STEP ELEVEN: Reduce the resistance level to 2 for 3 minutes in order to cool down.
If we review steps 3,5,7, and 9 where the resistance levels are increased, and these are called the "high intensity intervals," each followed by your active recovery or "low intensity intervals."

I'm talking lunges, kickbacks, all those various leg pressing machines, etc. I know this sounds counterintuitive, but working the glutes directly is not the key to getting a firm butt. This is the number one mistake I see women in a gym make. They perform tons of various exercises which target the glutes directly, but with very poor results.

Let me set the record straight...you can't "spot train" fat off of a body part. This is the most common type of cardio performed. The second type of cardio involves alternating intense efforts with moderate efforts. This is called interval training. Interval training has been proven more effective at burning stubborn body fat better than moderate steady cardio.

So here is an effective cardio workout that will melt fat off your butt faster than traditional cardio.
1) Walk on a treadmill for 5 minutes to warm up
